Hello I’m Maddie, A Dental Hygienist and Therapist from Brighton UK.

I am now living in Dubai, working with Dr Tosun and his fabulous team to “Create Smiles Built On Trust And Compassion’.  I am very excited to be apart of this new venture in an exciting and cosmopolitan country.  Sadly I had to say farewell to my friends and loyal clients in the UK but  I will see again them upon my return.

I have worked within the dental industry for over 20 year working  within the UK and overseas, I graduated from Queen Mary’s University London in 2006 and have been continuously learning, developing my skills and contributing to the dental profession ever since.

I was employed for six years as a dental therapy tutor for Queen Mary’s University based at the London Hospital, where I gained a wealth of experience within education and enjoyed working with, and learning from, some of the lead clinicians within the dental profession. Due to this role I have been invited to lecture and have been involved with various aspects of the dental industry as a key opinion leader.

After qualifying, I moved to Brighton where I enjoyed very busy and varied clinics both within the NHS and private settings.  I practiced Direct Access to dental hygiene and dental therapy services.  Laterly working with  Dental Health Spa, Brighton and the Dental Clinic, Shoreham-on-sea.

Alongside my clinical work I am council member (industry liaison) for the British Association of Dental Therapists (BADT). The British Association of Dental Therapists promotes the advancement of dental therapy within the dental profession.

I am also a member of the British Association of Dental Hygiene & Therapy.

Volunteering NGO

In ApriI 2016  I took an amazing trip to Panama to work with the Floating Doctors, a charitable organisation who provides free acute and preventative health and dental care services, and deliver donated medical and dental supplies to isolated areas.  This was the most amazing experience.  A real adventure of sea, hammocks, canoes and coconuts which considerably enhanced  my professional skills,  my awareness to International Public Health, improved my Spanish,  made new friends and allowed me to grow as a human being!

August 2018 brought me to Kenya with Maasai Molar whose mission is to provide safe, quality dental care for the Maasai and surrounding community, develop and sustain culturally appropriate dental programs for the regional schools, work with the community health services to improve health outcomes  and collaborate with other organisations to ensure unity and growth.  I volunteered as a dental therapist and helped facilitate the trip.  Another amazing experience, I still work closely with Maasai Molar   and will return.

Watch this space for my next adventure ….
